The Goats Are Back In Town!

JACKSON, TENN – The Jackson Rockabillys opened their 2024 season in supreme fashion with a 13-5, home win over the Full Count Rhythm. This starts them off with a 1-0 record on the year.

 

Ethan Rossow, a left fielder from Gardner Webb University, led the team offensively going 3 for 5 with 2 runs and 4 RBIs on the day. Matt Houston, a designated hitter from Navarro College also showed out in the team's first appearance, bringing in 3 RBIs to his name as well. The team was walked 13 times and came out of the game with errors as well. 

 

On the mound for the Rockabillys, we saw 3 different pitchers through the 9 innings. The starter, Matthew Riley, from Freed-Hardeman University, came out ready to play, as through 5 innings pitched, he allowed only 4 hits, 2 runs, and 2 walks along with 3 strikeouts on the day as well. Taylor Vinson, from Cleveland State Community College, appeared for 2/3 of an inning as well, putting up a stat line of 2 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. It was Patrick Green from Trevecca Nazarene University that sealed the deal for the Goats, appearing in a 3 1/3 innings, compiling 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts, while also adding a win to his name as well. 

 

The Rockabillys Take on the Cape Catfish at home tonight at 7 with the gates opening at 6, as a part of the Simon & Schuster's "School's Out, Teacher's In" game, where we will recognize different teachers from within the Jackson Madison County School District for all of the hard work that they have put in this past school year. All teachers will be admitted for $1.
