Rockabillys Start a Streak!

Jackson, Tenn - The Rockabillys win again! They improve to 2-0 on the season after besting the Cape Catfish 3-0. After 6 innings of pitchers' duel, the Goats capitalized on the goose egg tie by driving in one run in the 7th and two in the 8th, while still holding down a shut out on the other side of the ball. Its not easy to keep runners from scoring in this sport, but tonight, the Rockabillys made it look just plain simple.
Ethan Rossow, an outfielder from Gardner Webb University, again led the team offensively. Rossow finished 1-4 with 1 RBI. He currently is 2nd in the league in runs batted in with 5 and is in 1st in the league in hits with 4.
Jett Sutton, a Redshirt Freshman from Arkansas State, started for the Rockabillys on the mound tonight, surrendering only 2 hits and 3 walks along with 3 strikeouts in 4 innings. Nathaniel Helton from Palomar College (CA), appeared next for the Goats. He picked up right where Sutton left off, compiling 4 strike outs and a walk in 2 1/3 innings for us. Ethan Orwig, Union Univetsity, orchestrated a performance that gave him the win on the mound. He appeared in 1 2/3 innings, where he put together 2 strike outs, 2 walks, 2 hits. The highlight of the night was when Ethan left 3 ducks on the pond after striking out the last Catfish of the inning. It was all before Jaxson Lucas came in for an inning where he sealed the win, striking out 3.
The Rockabillys next home game will be this coming Saturday, June 1st, where the Goats will take on the Cape Catfish yet again, hoping to add to their win column on the year. This Saturday's game, the Rockabillys will be celebrating their mascot JR's birthday. The first 900 fans that come through the gates will receive their very own cow/goat bell to make an incredible amount of noise in the stands. Be sure to come out and support if you can!
