Rockabillys Lose a Close One

Marion, Ill - The Jackson Rockabillys were on the road today for their first time this season. They traveled up north to play the Thrillville Thrillbillies in their third game of the season. During the top of the fifth, the Thrillbillies struck first, bringing in a run in the bottom of the third to go up 1-0. The Rockabillys returned the favor and some in the top of the fifth, where they scored two runs to take the lead. They held that lead until the bottom of the sixth, where the Rockabillys defense allowed 2 runs to make it through home plate, bringing the score to 4-2, with the Thrillbilles in the lead, which they held until the end of the game. Offensively for the Rockabillys, the team was led by Matt Houston, a catcher from Navarro College. Houston went one for three with two runs batted in. He assited with the teams only two runs of the night.
On the mound, the crowd only saw two pitchers from the Rockabillys. Trey Watson from the University of Mobile got the start for the Goats. He played a full six innings, where he tallied six hits, three runs, three walks, along with three strikeouts. After Watson, Peyton Ring from Bethel University (IN) was called up for the last two innings, where he allowed two hits, one run, and two walks. All accompanied by three strikeouts.
The Jackson Rockabillys are on the road again tommorrow night, Friday May 31st, where they will take on the Full Count Rhythm in Hendersonville, TN for first time play at the home of Full Count. The Rhythm were the Rockabilly's opening night matchup, where the Goats were able to best the Rhythm 13-5.
The Rockabillys next home game will be this coming Saturday, June 1st, where the Goats will take on the Cape Catfish, hoping to add another to their win column on the year. This Saturday's game, the Rockabillys will be celebrating their mascot JR's birthday. The first 900 fans that come through the gates will receive their very own cow/goat bell to make an incredible amount of noise in the stands. Be sure to come out and support if you can!
