Rockabillys Hold Off Rally, Hang On to Beat Full Count Rhythm

The Rockabillys were able to hold off a furious comeback attempt by the Full Count Rhythm and take a narrow 6-5 win on the road.

The Goats jumped out to an early 5-0 lead off the back of some stellar pitching by starter Trey Watson and some costly miscues on the part of the Rhythm. However, it was not all smooth sailing, as after the Rockabillys went up 6-1 in the top of the sixth inning, the Rhythm put together a fierce rally to trim the lead to one in the bottom of the eighth.

However, the Goats were able to fend off the Rhythm and lock in the victory during a thrilling final inning, thanks in part to a sensational leaping grab by Dalton Rudd in left-center field to record the second out in the bottom of the ninth that had a chance to alter the scoreboard further had it not been caught.

From there, closer Jaxson Lucas recorded the final out of the game and the Rockabillys escaped with the win.

The Goats improve to 14-7 on the season with the win, and they will take on the Rhythm on the road again tomorrow at 7:05 PM CDT.

Go Goats!
