Rockabillys Lose on Walk-Off to Thrillbillies in Wild Back-and-Forth Affair

The Rockabillys were unable to defeat the Prospect League-leading Thrillville Thrillbillies on the road last night, as they were walked off en route to a heartbreaking 17-16 loss.
This was easily the most frantic and, quite frankly, unbelievable game for the Goats this season, as it initially looked like the Thrillbillies were going to casually stroll through this one on the way to a win when they held a 6-2 lead in the fourth inning. However, the Rockabillys exploded in the fifth inning to swipe the lead from Thrillville and take a 9-6 advantage.
The Thrillbillies were unfazed, though, and showed why they are the top team in the Prospect League this year as they scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 12-9 lead. All told, the two teams combined for a whopping 13 runs in the fifth inning alone.
The Goats refused to give in, though, and they battled back to take a 15-13 lead after another bunch of runs were tacked on in the seventh inning. Once the inning flipped, though, the Thrillbillies tied the game in the bottom half and eventually took the lead again in the bottom of the eighth.
However, Ethan Rossow scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth, and it looked like the Rockabillys might have enough to steal a win on the road. However, the Thrillbilles got out of the inning in a 16-16 tie, and from there, Thrillville's Houston Clark connected on an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to send the Goats home with the loss.
The Goats drop to 17-9 on the season after this hard-fought loss. They will head out on the road again today to take on the Cape Catfish at 4:05 PM CDT.
