White-Hot Offense Leads Rockabillys to Decisive Win over Thrillbillies

The Rockabillys used some white-hot bats to propel them to a dominant 14-8 win over the Thrillville Thrillbillies on the road.

The offense was firing on all cylinders for the Goats in this one, as they were up by as many as seven runs in the fifth inning. Merik Carter had a particularly outstanding day at the plate, as he finished with an RBI single, an RBI triple, and a solo home run, coming up just a double short of hitting for the cycle. Ethan Rossow also had an RBI triple and an RBI single, and Kaleb Hall drove in a critical 2-RBI single in the top of the seventh inning.

Things admittedly did look slightly more dicey when Thrillville's Houston Clark launched a no-doubt grand slam in the bottom of the sixth that cut the Rockabillys' lead to just three runs, but the bats really started to get going again to put the Goats in the lead for good, and some key defense in the final few innings helped them leave Thrillville with the win.

The Rockabillys improve to 6-0 in the second half of the season and 23-10 overall. They look to continue their scorching-hot start tomorrow when they hit the road to face the O'Fallon Hoots at 6:35 PM CDT.
