Pitching Falls Apart Late in Rockabillys' Loss to Hoots

The Rockabillys' undefeated record in the second half of the 2024 season went up in smoke tonight as they fell 16-8 to the O'Fallon Hoots.

This game was a back-and-forth affair and it truly did look like it could be anyone's game right up until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Rockabillys held an 8-5 lead. The Hoots almost immediately responded with a three-RBI double to tie the game, and that was when everything began to fall apart for the Goats. Poor pitching did them in as the Hoots proceeded to put up eight runs over the next three innings, and they held an eight-run lead by the end of the seventh inning that they would never relinquish.

The Rockabillys fall to 6-1 in the second half of the season and 23-11 overall with the loss. Their road trip continues tomorrow as they take on the Alton River Dragons at 6:35 PM CDT.

Go Goats!
