Rockabillys Hang on to Beat Hoots, Sweep Two-Game Set

The Rockabillys were able to hang on to their late lead and take their second consecutive game over the O'Fallon Hoots tonight by a score of 6-4, sweeping the two-game series.
The Goats' pitching, particularly that of starter Matthew Riley, was the story of the game in this one, as Riley pitched seven scoreless innings and only gave up five hits while striking out two Hoots batters. Things got a little tense in the top of the eighth inning when the Hoots cut the Rockabillys' lead to two runs, but Jaxson Lucas came out and did what he does best, securing yet another save for his season and shutting down the late Hoots rally. The bats also did what they needed to do to give some support to Riley and the pitching staff, as Merik Carter, Brian Daker, and Jackson Blemler all drew in at least one RBI.
The Goats improve to 11-11 in the second half of the season and 28-21 overall with the win. They will hit the road again to take on the Dubois County Bombers tomorrow at 5:30 PM CDT.
Go Goats!
