Rockabillys Come from Behind to Beat Thrillbilles in Must-Win Game

In a battle of two wildly explosive offenses, the Rockabillys rallied from behind to defeat the Thrillville Thrillbillies for their second straight win.
Offense was the name of the game in this one, as both teams were on fire at the plate. As exhilirating as the comeback for the Goats was, it looked for much of the game like the Thrillbillies were going to run away with this one. They were up 7-2 in the top of the fifth inning, and when the Rockabillys managed to trim that lead to one, Thrillville connected on a monster grand slam over the Blue Monster to push the lead back up to five. They tacked on two more in the top of the seventh to take a 13-6 lead, and things looked bleak for the Goats.
However, right at that moment is when the momentum completely flipped, as the Rockabillys kickstarted a massive rally with an RBI single from Nick Varon. Kaleb Hall and Merik Carter then drew in three combined runs, shaving the deficit to 13-10. After Carter tacked on another run, Jackson McCoy sent a laser over the wall for a two-run shot to tie the game at 13. Jackson Blemler drew in an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth that would prove to be the game-winner, as closer Jaxson Lucas came in and shut down the Thrillville offense for the final three outs.
The Rockabillys improve to 14-12 in the second half of the season and 31-22 overall with the win, and they keep their playoff hopes alive and keep pace with the Cape Catfish, who currently lead the South division. However, their biggest test yet might very well await them tomorrow as they take on the Full Count Rhythm on the road in a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 5:30 PM CDT.
