Rockabillys and Full Count Rhythm End Night with Suspended Game but are Eliminated from Playoff Contention

The Rockabillys will continue a suspended game at home tonight against Full Count Rhythm due to rain and lightning in Hendersonville Tuesday night. The game will resume in the fifth inning with the Rockabillys leading 7-5.
The Goats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead thanks in part to Jackson McCoy's 2-RBI double. However, the Rhythm drew in a couple of runs and cranked a solo shot over the wall to tie the game at 3 in the bottom half of the first. The game continued its back-and-forth nature until the fourth inning, when the game was put on pause for a weather delay with the Goats hanging on to a 6-5 lead.
When play resumed just over two hours later, Jackson Blemler drove in an RBI double to bump the Rockabillys' lead up to 7-5. The game didn't last much longer after that, as lightning in the area forced the umpires to suspend the game in the top of the fifth. However, with the South Division-leading Cape Catfish's 8-0 shutout win over the O'Fallon Hoots, the Rockabillys have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Rockabillys are 14-12 in the second half of the season and 31-22 overall but will not qualify for the postseason this year due to the Catfish's win tonight. The Rockabillys will wrap up their season at home Wednesday night. They will continue the suspended game at 6:00pm followed by a final seven inning game on 731 night at the Rockabillys stadium.
