Rockabillys Bounce Back with Eight Inning Win Against O'Fallon

O'FALLON, Mo.- The Hoots couldn't retain their unrelenting determination from game one, as they committed three errors, allowing Jackson to collect their second road win of the season 2-1.

The home team struck first, converting a run off of a passed ball that snuck around catcher Mason Acton in the initial frame. However, for O'Fallon, this was all their offense could muster over the course of eight innings.

Jackson took a minute to get going offensively, eventually finding a groove against reliever Kristopher Alcorn to plate all four runs. An unlikely first run scored for the Rockabillys, with an error from third baseman Cade Grevengoed allowing Brett Rogers to score in the sixth.

Then in the seventh, Brooks Jones continued the recent long-ball resurgence with a solo shot to right center field, giving the road warriors a lead they'd never relinquish. An error in the eighth from O'Fallon aided Jackson in scoring two more much needed insurance runs, before the game was inevitably called due to poor weather.

Chase Chamberlain was phenomenal in limiting an aggressive Hoots offense to just four hits over his five innings of work with poor weather playing no part in deterring his solid night. To put the icing on the cake, relievers Jacob Rossi and Ethan Ell allowed no hits to secure the eventual victory.

Goats Notes: The Goats head over to Alton, Ill. to take on the River Dragons in a standalone contest starting tonight at 5:35 p.m.
