Bats Come to Life as Rockabillys Trounce CornBelters

JACKSON, Tenn.- The offense was alive for the first time in five games, as the Goats secured a season sweep of the CornBelters, taking game three 10-3.
Normal starter Jimmy Amptmann had all kinds of trouble with his control, and the Rockabillys didn't let that slide, plating four runs over the first two innings. Brady Moad was opportunistic in the first when he snuck a single into right field, which scored Drew McConnell and Webb Watson.
Then in the second, McConnell unloaded a no-doubt shot to right field which plated his teammate McKay Whitaker, along with himself to add two more.
There would be very little action offensively for the Belters, thanks to an unreal performance from starting pitcher Andrew Perry. Perry finished his night with six innings pitched, nine strikeouts, and two runs allowed. Neither of those runs were earned.
Those aforementioned runs were plated on a two-run shot for Normal, but there was little time wasted by the Goats in answering back. Jack Runsick scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the sixth.
This led to the flood gates opening in the bottom frame of the seventh, where five runs scored on six 'Billys hits. Ivan Vega, Brooks Jones, and Cade Miles joined the hit parade to push the lead to eight. One more run came across for the CornBelters but it was too little, too late and the Rockabillys snagged the series.
You Get A Hit, You Get A Hit, Everyone Gets A Hit!
The Goats had the entire starting lineup finish with at least one hit, on top of the incredible starting performance from Perry.
Goats Notes: Rockabillys Stadium will be bumpin' once again tomorrow against the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Along with another incredible game, it is also Travelmation Fiesta and Siesta Night, along with Church Family Night.
